Alot of actors tend to get real nervous about doing standard American for castings/pilot season , especially when its for Americans producers and directors. Having worked on many American productions and films I know exactly what it is that American casting/directors want and more importantly what they expect from british actors working in the accent. I can give you lots of top tips and help you identify and problem solve the 'givewaway sounds' that Americans are understandably sensitive about! We'll also look at how the culture differences between Brits and Americans inform the accent and the delivery!
